Straight and fast

I purchased the Yellowfin 120 after much research. I found everything I needed with this purchase. I was looking for a Yak that had a rudder, would run straight and have added speed. I took it out last Monday evening in House Creek, Cherry Grove, SC. This is a saltwater marsh at the north end of Myrtle Beach. The boat handled as expected. I was even more surprised that when I stopped paddling the boat stayed straight forward without moving to one side or another. The speed was fantastic as it glided through the water going into the wind. It handled it with no issues. I was using a Lifetime Teton 100 before and it moved all over the place, it was slow, however it was a good first Kayak for me. I chose the paddle over fins as I like the upper body workout I get.

Highly Recommend

I purchased this kayak as an upgrade from my baseline sit on top. Where to start exactly, on my second trip out i was in a rush and may not have strapped it down correctly.... At 55mph this kayak caught air and like an olympic figure skater started to double sow cow across the high way in an amazing fashion. As i caught my breath from the performance my yak had just performed across the highway, i turned around to pick it up out of the ditch.... the slightest road rash and I lost a clip. I smiled as i tossed it back in the truck and went about my day fishing the rest of the afternoon....

Handling = B ( waiting on my rudder to come in and this will probably fix this to an A as well)

Upgrade ability = A+ If you wanted an attachment im sure you can make it work, the tracks/clips/handles are very solid.

I would highly reccomend this kayak to anyone. easily carries everything i would need for a weekend trip down river. This yak will take care of you on your adventures. Very happy with my purchase overall

Best of Both Worlds

The Yellowfin 120 is the best of both worlds in many ways. Paddling and fishing, rivers and lakes, stability and speed. This kayak is so versatile! The open deck is a nice feature for simplicity, especially if you are a fly angler or just want to take the dog for a paddle on the water. The hull cuts through currents and waves and is very maneuverable for its length. The weight capacity allows for tons of storage, rigging options, and stability. If you are torn between kayak models give this one a very close look, you won’t be disappointed!
