The paddle is great. Light weight and works well. But it gets you soaked because of the cut out on the bottom. My opinion is I like using the vibe fiberglass paddle better. And you save like 40 bucks.
I recently went from using a field and stream cf angler to the vibe ember. I used then side by side and it was truly a night and day difference! I noticed how much faster I was able to move my kayak. This paddle pushed the water better and pushed me more. Gave me more momentum. Absolutely love and highly recommend the Vibe Ember!
I have enjoyed using my Ember paddle since its release. The blade is very responsive giving the paddle a quick response, most noticeable when you just begin your first movement or adjustment. The hook retriever and notch have come in handy! Very well designed and thought-out lightweight paddle.
I fish a lot of rivers with shoals, rocks, and am tough on my gear. The grabbing ledge is great, especially in moving water and I like how strong the paddle is while being light weight. Top notch! And the 260 cm length is perfect when standing. Highly recommended! Only con is that the locking mechanism was a tad loose when I got it but that was easy to tighten.
Loving the Vibe Ember so far. I was able to purchase the Ember when it was first released as a Vibe Shop exclusive, and definitely noticed the difference as soon as I got it out on the water. It's lighter than the Vibe Evolve paddle I had before, and infinitely adjustable on the fly. We have several different kayaks, so it's nice to have one paddle that easily works for all of them. I initially questioned how much I'd actually use the hook retriever and ledge pull notch, but used both on the first outing.... the pulling notch has come in clutch quite a few times! The price is also great and below similarly weighted paddles.
