The Shearwater 125 was engineered from the water up to be the world's most versatile and customizable fishing kayak. It comes fully loaded with built-in fishing features that can be customized into a pro-level angling kayak. At 12.5 ft, it remains unrivaled in speed stability and versatility in a variety of water types and conditions. Whether its Paddle, Pedal, or Power, the Shearwater 125 is ready for your greatest adventures.

We designed the Shearwater 125 around our Select-a-Pod system, which gives you the option to utilize the included Versa storage pod, or upgrade to either our X-Drive Kit, or our Impulse Drive Kit, which instantly give you the ability to take your Paddle kayak and make it foot powered. The X-Drive features a fin style drive system letting you pedal in shallower weedier waters, while the Impulse Drive allows you to take advantage of instant reverse with its propellor style design. Both pedal pods can be swapped out without modification making the Shearwater the ultimate in choosing your own adventure.

Shearwater owner since 2020

I pre-ordered the Shearwater a few months before it was released. There was some delays due to Covid so I think I finally picked up the boat in early May. There were some very minor issues with the first generation but Vibe customer support has been nothing short of amazing. Every time I've needed a replacement part (always small things, never anything major) customer support has shipped it to me super fast. Even interacting with customer service is a nice experience. I literally can't say enough good things. Since then I've recommended Vibe to all my friends. Vibe has earned my respect and loyalty for life!

Love It… Just Heavy!

I love this kayak. I originally had a Yellowfin 100, but hated how it maneuvered on the water—it never tracked straight for me which is why I upgraded to the SW. The SW tracks super straight, is extremely comfortable, and super stable. I even stood up once on it and was fine. I’m 5’4” at 235lbs and it held my fat ass perfectly fine. The biggest problem that I have with it is that it is just too big for me both length-wise and especially weight-wise. I love it on the water but on land, I curse the thing all the time. It is for this reason that I am going for the Makana and my boyfriend can have my SW.
